Sound Bites list

The Sound Bites blog is the first source that brought Amazing Baby into my attention. The owner of the blog has compiled a personal list of albums of the year.
This is Amazing Baby's entry, at number 25. :

25. Amazing Baby - Infinite Fucking Cross EP (download EP) (Video + Video) Hated by Brooklynvegan commenters, loved by me. Harder, more-rocking Roxy Music? About as close to a good description as you can get with these pigeonhole-adverse Williamsburg residents.

MusicFile article

It's pretty much the same old story in this article... They are impressed, they make the obligatory drug reference, they want you to check out the EP and they predict 2009 will be a good year for Amazing Baby.

Hell, so do I.
So let's hope the year changes quickly so we can get some action.

2009's Red Pages: Hot 100 List

It is arranged in alphabetical order, so Amazing Baby is at the top four.
It says :
Amazing Baby - rock & pop
Although the Brooklyn duo formed in January 2008, they've already toured with MGMT and released an EP this summer.
Highly anticipated album expected 2009.

Blog admin's note :
for future reference to all journalists,
there are 5 (FIVE) members in Amazing Baby.

An old review, but it's well worth reading

A review of the London show, which was on November 17th.
Some amusing highlights :

"Frontman Will Roan is deliciously sexy with his deliberate enticing stage presence, sporadically swinging his mic around like an ageing 70’s rocker, (Andrew VanWyngarden eat your heart out!) Alongside Will and the rotating cast of backing band players was guitarist Simon O’Connor, who played as though entranced by the music they were making from behind his long lank locks……or maybe that was just the acid?"

Head Dress is on NME's top 50 tracks of the year list

"Amazing Baby - Head Dress. The opening track of the 'Invisible Fucking Cross' EP, 'Head Dress' spared with euphoric guitar riffs and heart-burstingly beautiful layers of noise. And it isn't going too far to point to the surge of thrilling music coming from New York as the icing on the 'We Heart USA' zeitgeist that peaked with the electing of Obama and promises so much for 2009"

So says NME.

Last.fm statistics

Last.fm keeps track of songs that the users of this application listen to. The play count of Amazing Baby songs has been growing impressively fast since last summer.
The first tracks ('Narwhal 2.20.08' and 'Supreme Being 2.14.08') were scrobbled in February, when there was just one listener.
By June, the tracks had been listened to 959 times, with 'Head Dress' being the most popular song.

By July 10th, there had been
1 589 plays,
by 187 individual listeners.
Today, December 10th, there has been
15 335 plays,
by 1 711 individual listeners.

That's pretty damn well for an unsigned band.
